Pistons and liners stand in order on the workshop floor. They are from a Ruston RK V12 engine which was fitted to an Alstom M9 locomotive built in France during 2000. The 10 locomotives ordered have proven themselves unreliable, to compound the problem spares are impossible to get hold of. To combat the parts shortages two of the 10 have been stripped for spares to keep the other 8 running.
As a footnote…they sound amazing.
