This little beauty was built by Brush at Loughborough in 1981 for export to Sri Lanka where she is still running strong . 16 were sent of these 1000 hp beauties but I am not sure what power unit they have in them. They do sound like a mini duff though.
Class M7 number 808 is running bonnet first near Polwatumodera with the 1025 Matara to Galle.
The crossing is still manually operated protected at each end by a lower quadrant semaphore: The gate keepers hut can be seen behind.
