The demand is shouted from tens of thousands of throats in Colombo, calling for Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapakse to resign in the face of economic catastrophe and a fuel crisis. After months of unrelenting protest that culminated in the storming of the presidential and prime ministerial residences and other government buildings, the president announced his resignation later that day.
