Fshing Cat – Prionailurus viverrinus

The endangered Fishing Cat is an elusive wild cat I have been fortunate to see three times in at remote waterside locations in Sri Lanka while searching at night by torchlight. But this was a wonderful experience to see a captive Fishing Cat so close.

Fishing Cats are found in South and Southeast Asia but are threatened by destruction of wetlands and have declined severely over the past decade.
