An Influencer at Work (on a Sri Lankan Beach)

Along our 1.5 km long beach Mawella there are probably half a dozen small resorts, boutique hotels or private accommodation. I estimate that now in the high season a total of about 40 people spend their holidays here. Since the beach is located to the south, it can hardly be enjoyed during the day. But early in the morning, around sunrise and early evening, there are always a few people frolicking on the beach. It’s always interesting for me to see how differently people use the beach. People know and greet each other, especially long-term residents. Some only appear briefly and can hardly believe the silence, the peace and the direct nature. Here’s an obvious influencer setting up her mobile phone on a tripod and then standing in front of the camera in the water to produce a short sequence.
