Sigiriya (Sri Lanka) – Classé au patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco la forteresse de Sigirîya appelée « Le Rocher du Lion » attirait avant la pandémie liée au coronavirus, des millions de touristes chaque année.
Ces derniers s’acquittent d’un droit d’entrée 20 fois supérieur au tarif réservé au sri lankais. Sur le principe, rien à dire ! Les ressortissants des pays dits riches, ont un pouvoir d’achat nettement supérieur.
Mais à ce tarif prohibitif pour une famille de quatre personnes, malgré la beauté du site, cela fait cher pour se retrouver au milieu d’une cohorte de touristes piétinant sur les escaliers en pierre et en acier, facilitant l’ascension du rocher. Ambiance métro parisien aux heures de pointe. Je suis venu pour faire plaisir à mes filles qui voyageaient avec moi. J’ai vu. Je ne pense pas renouveler l’expérience. J’ai eu le même sentiment en 2019 en visitant les temples d’Angkor au Cambodge.
