An S14 unit approaches Kandy with a Badula to Colombo service.
The tracks are alive with kids walking home from school. School finishes between 1300 and 1330 in Sri Lanka having started at 0730. Walking along the tracks is permitted in most areas, trains dont travel very fast and people can easily get out of the way.
Streets can be extremely busy with cars buses and lorries and pavements are not always provided.
Walking the tracks is by far the safest way for a pedestrian to get around.
