Sri Lankan Hot Pot | Cooking with Aunty D

Aunty D brings you a Sri Lankan rendition of a trending Asian-inspired recipe that you can make in literally minutes! Would you try it? 

Here’s how you make it.

Ingredients: 

Carrot 1 large 

Big Onion 1 medium 

Garlic 3 cloves 

Ginger 1/2 inch

Cuttlefish 250 g 

Butter 1 tbsp 

Prawns 200 g

Salt 1/2 tsp 

Pepper 1/4 tsp 

Chilli Paste 1 tsp 

Water 1 1/2 cups 

Noodles (according to your preference)

Bok Choy 

Green Onion

 

Method:

First, slice the carrot, onion, garlic and ginger and set aside.

Slice the cuttlefish into rings.

Add butter to a pan and fry the garlic, ginger and onion.

While frying, add prawns, cuttlefish, salt, pepper, chilli paste and mix well.

Then add the sliced carrot, cover it with water, and let it simmer.

Next, add the noodles and let it cook.

Once the noodles are cooked, add bok choy and green onion, and give it a final mix.

There you have it! An easy one-pot hotpot recipe with a touch of Sri Lankan spice and flavour, enjoy!
