Milo Swiss Roll | Cooking with Aunty D

Ingredients: 

Eggs 5 nos

Sugar 130 g

Vanilla 5 ml

Nestle Milo Powder 50 g

Baking Powder 6 g

Flour 90 g

For Milo Sugar Syrup: 

Water 100 ml

Sugar 160 g

Nestle Milo Powder 50 g

For the Milo Icing: 

Butter 200 g

Icing Sugar 200 g

Nestle Milo Powder 75 g

Cocoa Powder 20 g

Vanilla 10 ml

For the Milo Ganache: 

Fresh Milk 200 ml

Nestle Milo Powder 100 g

Chocolate 200 g

Method: 

Add 5 egg whites into a bowl and whisk it together until it the mixture thickens.

Add sugar and continue to whisk.

In a separate bowl, add 5 egg yolks and sugar before whisking them all together, while adding drops of vanilla.

Moving to dry ingredients, add Nestle Milo Powder and flour in a bowl.

Next, fold in the egg yolk mixture and egg whites mixture together.

Proceed to fold in the dry ingredients together.

On a lined baking tray, pour in the mixture and let it bake for 20 minutes at 180c.

To prepare the Milo sugar syrup, Boil water, sugar and Nestle Milo Powder and whisk until the solution thickens.

Next to prepare the Milo icing add butter and icing into a bowl before whisking them one after the other.

Proceed to add Nestle Milo Powder, cocoa powder and vanilla into the butter mixture and whisk them all together.

To prepare the Milo ganache, boil fresh milk and Nestle Milo Powder while gently whisking to remove clumps.

Next, add in some chocolate blocks and continue whisking until the ganache thickens.

Once all the ingredients are prepared, spread the Milo icing and Milo ganache to add the filling for the swiss roll.

Gently roll the swiss cake and refrigerate it to cool down.

Once the swiss roll has cooled down, pour the remaining ganache on the top of the roll and serve!
