Ambarella Chutney | Cooking with Aunty D

What’s green, tangy, and pairs perfectly with everything?

That’s right, ambarella chutney! This is the perfect sweet and spicy condiment to turn any meal around.

Try it out with aunty D!

Ingredients:

Ambarella 500 g

Water 2 cups

Sugar 250 g

Salt 1 1/2 tsp

Cloves 5 nos

Cinnamon 1/2 inch

Ginger + Garlic 1 1/2 tsp

Chilli powder 2 tbsp

 

Method:

To a pot add cubed ambarella, water, sugar, salt, cloves and cinnamon.

Stir continuously for 5 minutes over the stove, while being careful not to overcook the bottom.

Cover and let it simmer over low heat until you notice the colour darken.

Add ginger, garlic and chilli powder before covering again and let it simmer till the gravy thickens.

Take off the heat and enjoy it as a side with your favourite meal!
