NDB Strives to Empower Exports in Collaboration with EDB for the Presidential Awards

In an effort to further its commitment towards advancing export excellence, NDB Bank and NDB Investment Bank (NDBIB) have joined forces with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) as the Silver Sponsor for the esteemed ‘Presidential Export Awards 2023.’ The formalisation of this collaboration took place on October 27, 2023, as Mr. Dimantha Senevirathne, CEO/Director of NDB Bank, symbolically presented the sponsorship cheque to Dr. Kingsley Bernard, Chairman/CEO of the Export Development Board, at the EDB headquarters.

The 25th edition of the Presidential Export Awards (PEA), considered the pinnacle of recognition for exporters in Sri Lanka, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 23rd, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). This year’s ceremony aims to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the country’s top exporters to the export sector and economic development for the financial years 2021/22 and 2022/23. The awards will be conferred in two main categories—Overall Awards and Products & Services Sector Awards for each financial year—by His Excellency President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka.

This corporate sponsorship and partnership between NDB, NDBI, and EDB is poised to play a pivotal role in propelling the success of PEA 2023, underscoring the commendable dedication of NDB Bank to enhancing Sri Lanka’s SME advancement.

The exporter community eagerly anticipates the Presidential Export Awards 2023, an event organized by EDB under the guidance of Hon. Dilum Amunugama, State Minister of Investment Promotion, and Mr. M. M. Nayeemudeen, Secretary to the Ministry of Investment Promotion.
