BoardPAC a Global Board Meeting Automation company qualifies to be Carbon Neutral

BoardPAC marked a key milestone in its Environment Social and Governance (ESG) journey by being certified by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund as being carbon neutral for the year 2021.  The certification was carried out by Sri Lanka Climate Fund functioning under the Ministry of Environment using the ISO 14064 – 1:2018 standard.

Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment and Chairman of Sri Lanka Climate Fund stated “I would like to congratulate BoardPAC in embarking and successfully achieving Carbon Neutral certification using the globally accepted ISO standard.  We encourage other companies in Sri Lanka to embark on this process, so we can build a sustainable IT industry”.

Ms Lakmini Wijesundera, the CEO of BoardPAC (Pvt) Ltd, said, “Our product is marketed and used by the Board of Directors of most of the Major banks and corporations globally.  We enable Boards to have a paperless secure method of conducting meetings and maintaining records.  Currently Boards are very focused on ESG and making their corporations sustainable.  As a facilitator in that process we felt it was important to be carbon neutral ourselves”.

The Sri Lanka Climate Fund is a government-owned company established under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007 of Sri Lanka, serving the purpose of building a new low-carbon business economy and low-carbon life patterns. While optimizing carbon emission performance in existing facilities, they are looking to explore the potential for new effective low carbon solutions through innovative strategies and collaboration with local and international markets.

The ISO 14064 – 1:2018 is a global standard for Corporations to assess their organization wide use of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and discharges. Once the GHG emissions are quantified and certified organizations can offset the emissions by investing in UN globally approved project to receive the carbon neutral certification.
