Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot ♂ Loriculus beryllinus

Roger Wasley posted a photo:

The beautiful Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot is about the size of a House Sparrow. This bird is much smaller than parakeets and with a short tail and bright green plumage. Both sexes show red bill and red rump, while male also possesses a scarlet crown. This parrot is endemic to Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) sometimes known as “the pearl of the Indian Ocean” because of its shape and location. This male was seen feeding just after dawn near Kandy.
