Did you know that Sri Lanka generates more than 7,000 tonnes of solid waste per day? That is a lot of ice cream wrappers and drink bottles just thrown away. We live in a world of overconsumption and overpopulation, and our own island paradise (especially our beaches) is being drowned in garbage. So what can we do to stop this? We can’t simply stop generating trash, and we can’t keep throwing it in the ocean. Our only option is to learn the importance of recycling.
