Wooden Stove Dhal Curry | Cooking with Aunty D

Ingredients: 

Oil 1 tbsp

Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp

Dry Red Chilli 3 nos

Garlic 3 cloves

Big Onion 1 small

Curry Leaves + Rampe

Maldives Fish 1 tsp

Dhal 1 cup

Chilli Powder 1 1/2 tsp

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Salt 1 tsp

Coconut Milk (Thick) 1 cup

Coconut Milk (Thin) 1 1/2 cup

Method: 

In an oiled clay pot, lightly sauté some mustard seeds, dry red chilli, garlic and big onion.

Next, add in some curry leaves and rampe.

Once slightly cooked, proceed to add the Maldives fish and give it a mix to combine the ingredients together.

Next, add dhal, chilli powder, turmeric and salt, before giving it another mix.

Proceed to pour thick coconut milk into the dhal mixture, followed by thin coconut milk powder.

Stir the curry together and seal the lid to let the curry cook.

Once the dhal curry begins to thicken, give it one final stir and serve while hot!
