Semiya Payasam | Cooking with Aunty D

Semiya Payasam is a sweet, creamy, South Indian dish made with NOODLES!

Follow along with Aunty D to learn how to make it!

 

Ingredients:

Ghee 1 tbsp

Cashew 1/4 cup

Dried Plums 1/4 cup

Vermicelli Noodles 1/2 cup

Water 1/2 cup

Fresh Milk 2 cup

Sago 1/2 cup

Condensed Milk 1/2 cup

Cardamom 3 nos

 

Method:

In a heated pan, roast ghee, cashew and dried plums until lightly browned, and set aside.

To the same pan, add the vermicelli noodles and roast until lightly browned, and set aside.

To a pot, add water, two cups of fresh milk and sago, and bring it to a boil while stirring continuously.

Mix in the roasted vermicelli noodles and cook until the mixture is thickened.

Add in condensed milk and the rest of the fresh milk and stir until it’s well combined.

Lastly, mix in the cardamom, roasted cashews and plums. Serve and enjoy!
