Pork Bistek | Cooking with Aunty D

Some savoury Pork Bistek is just what you’re missing to elevate your lunch or to pair as a bite to go with your drink.

Here’s how you make it!

Ingredients:

Pork 500 g

Salt 1 ¾ tsp

Pepper 1 ¼ tsp

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Vinegar 1 1/2 tsp

Cinnamon ¾ inch

Oil 1 tsp

Cloves + Cardamom 3 nos

Green Chilli 6 nos

Capsicum 2 nos

Curry Leaves + Rampe

Ginger + Garlic 1 1/2 tsp

Big Onion 1 large

Method:

In a cooking pot, start by combining the pork with salt, pepper, turmeric, vinegar and cinnamon.

Next, add water till the pork is submerged, and let it simmer.

Take the pot off the heat once the water has evaporated.

To a separate pot, add oil, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon and give it a stir.

Add in green chillies, capsicums, curry leaves, rampe, chopped ginger and garlic, and mix well.

Add sliced onion along with salt and pepper to taste.

Finally, add the cooked pork in to the pot and give it a good toss to combine. Enjoy!
