Paal Payasam | Cooking with Aunty D

Ingredients: 

Basmati Rice 1/2 cup

Ghee 1 tsp

Fresh Milk 1 litre

Ghee 2 tsp

Fried Cashew 50 g

Fried Raisins 50 g

Sugar 1/3 cup

Cardamom 3 nos

 

Method: 

Begin by soaking raw rice for 5 minutes.

Once soaked, lightly grind the rice.

Add ghee in a pot and proceed to fry the grinded rice.

Next, pour in fresh milk, while gently stirring the mixture until it begins to boil.

In a skillet, sauté raisins and cashew nuts until well roasted.

Next, add sugar, cardamom, roasted cashew nuts and raisins to the milk mixture.

Lightly stir the mixture until well cooked.

Finally, remove the pot from the stove and serve!
