Milo Cake | Cooking with Aunty D

Ingredients:

Butter 125 g

Sugar 125 g

Egg 3 nos

Flour 100 g

Cocoa Powder 10 g

Baking Powder 6 g

Baking Soda 2 g

Nestle Milk Powder 80 g

Vanilla 5 ml

For Milo Sugar Syrup:

Water 100 ml

Sugar 160 g

Nestle Milo Powder 50 g

For Milo Icing:

Butter 100 g

Icing Sugar 350 g

Nestle Milo Powder 150 g

Cocoa Powder 25 g

Vanilla 10 ml

For the Milo Ganache:

Fresh Milk 200 ml

Nestle Milo Powder 100 g

Chocolate 200 g

Method:

In a bowl, add butter and sugar before whisking it together.

Next, while whisking add 3 eggs one after the other.

To prepare the dry ingredients, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and Nestle Milo Powder.

Proceed to add vanilla into the wet batter while partially adding the dry ingredients, while gently mixing the ingredients together.

Pour in the cake batter on to a lined baking tray and bake at 180 c for 35 minutes to 45 minutes.

To prepare the Milo sugar syrup, boil water and sugar together before adding Nestle Milo Powder.

To prepare the Milo icing, In a bowl whisk butter before adding icing sugar together.

Next add Nestle Milo Powder into the mix and whisk until ingredients are well combined.

To prepare the Milo ganache, pour in fresh milk to a pot before adding Nestle Milo powder.

Let the mixture boil.

Next, add a few blocks of chocolate into the boiling mixture and keep stirring until it becomes thick.

Finally, it is time to assemble the Milo cake:

Cut the cake in half and add sugar syrup into the baked cake.

Proceed to use a piping bag to add icing into the cake and spread it evenly.

Once the middle layer is covered, add sugar syrup on the top of the cake before covering the cake with icing.

Finally, generously pour in the ganache and serve!
