Devilled Soya Meat | Cooking with Aunty D

Bursting with aroma and Sri Lankan spices, devilled soya meat is a classic curry that can accompany anything from steaming hot rice to bread, or even on its own. 

Here’s how you make it! 

Ingredients: 

Soya Meat

Boiling Water 

Salt 1 ¼  tsp 

Yoghurt 1 cup

Pepper 1/2 tsp 

Chilli Flakes 2 tsp 

Corn Flour 1/4 cup 

Oil 3 ⅓  tbsp 

Ginger + Garlic Paste 1 tsp

Capsicum 2 nos 

Green Chilli 4 nos 

Big Onion 1 large

Tomato 2 medium

Soy Sauce 1 tbsp 

Tomato Sauce 1 tbsp 

 

Method:

Soak soya meat in boiling water with salt for 3 minutes. 

Add yoghurt, pepper, chilli flakes, corn flour and salt in another bowl and mix until well combined.

Add the soaked soya meat to the same bowl and mix well. 

Next, add oil to a pan and fry the soya meat. 

Add oil to a separate pan and add ginger, garlic paste, sliced capsicum, green chilli, big onion, tomato, chilli flakes, salt, soy sauce and tomato sauce.

Toss in the fried soya meat and stir everything together. 

Take the mixture off the heat and enjoy!
