Beast: A Lean Thriller Packed with Edge-of-your-seat Action!

Beast is an enticing piece of action survival thriller that gives its viewers another level of the Jurassic Park experience!

The movie revolves around a grieving father (Idris Elba) and his two daughters, Mer (Iyana Halley) and Nora (Leah Jeffries), who travel to their late mother’s village in South Africa in which they encounter a bloodthirsty lion. The director, Baltasar Kormakur, focuses on the father-daughter bond throughout the movie and beautifully captures how an individual summons his utmost strength and power to save and protect his children.

It also gives an exciting mixture of man versus wild, while drawing parallels between the lion and the father. Definitely expect intense scenes of violence coupled with the occasional blood and gore.

The cinematography definitely does justice to the alluring African landscape, from the wide shots to the close ups, which makes this movie even more satisfying to watch. Even though the movie is relatively shorter compared to other action flicks, it gives a perfectly paced story for those who enjoy the anticipation and jump scare action. There are also some gasp-worthy moments, and the vengeance seeking lion will make you jump right out of your seats – so look out!
