The Negombo Magistrate ordered a seven-day detention for 22 Buddhist monks arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport with over 110 kilograms of Kush cannabis and hashish, to detain and interrogate them. The case was reported by Ada Derana on April 27, 2026.
