Sri Lankan researchers from Monash University Malaysia won the UN’s Global Climate Innovation Award, presenting a carbon capture solution using microalgae. Their project effectively captures 8.5 tonnes of CO2 annually, providing sustainable products and supporting Sri Lanka’s climate goals. The team received $10,000 for their innovative work.
