Sri Lanka will prohibit the free distribution of plastic shopping bags, specifically Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), starting November 1, 2025. Traders must display prices for these bags and include them in customer bills, as mandated by the Consumer Affairs Authority.
