The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers are expected in several areas after 2:00 pm today, including Western, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern provinces, and the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya, with showers likely across parts of the island today.
