SC rules Parliamentary Pensions Repeal Bill can be passed with simple majority
SC rules Parliamentary Pensions Repeal Bill can be passed with simple majority

Supreme Court ruled that the Parliamentary Pensions (Repeal) Bill has no constitutional inconsistencies and can be passed by Parliament with a simple majority. Speaker of the House Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne stated the court’s decision enables enactment under a standard majority.
