Govt to pay Rs. 1,200 mln for crop damage caused by Nilwala River salinity barrier

Authorities will compensate farmers with Rs 1,200 million for crop losses from the irregular Nilwala River salinity barrier construction. The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board says steps are in place to provide compensation for crops damaged by the barrier.
