A female lawyer from Kadawatha was arrested for allegedly aiding in the murder of underworld figure Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne by providing Ishara Sewwandi with a copy of the Penal Code to help conceal the murder weapon. Police reported the incident on October 29, 2025.
