Dilith Jayaweera, leader of Sarvajana Balaya and MP, condemned the arrest and 72-hour detention of former state intelligence chief Major General (Retd) Suresh Sallay. He said the move was politically motivated and framed as questioning re: the Easter Sunday attacks, calling it a pretext.
