Flight Lieutenant Eranga Chamara Ekanayake, co-pilot of the Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212, testified in court regarding the crash into Gin Oya. He mentioned that both he and the main pilot detected a technical defect in the aircraft prior to the incident.
