President Anura Kumara Dissanayake officially launched the construction of the 50MW HayWind wind power project in Mannar, developed by Hayleys Fentons Limited, as part of the government’s initiative to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The launch took place on January 15, 2026.
