Your next stop should be the Kithsiri Mewan Raja Maha Viharaya (ancient temple), built in 311 AD during the period of King Kirthi Sri Megawanna. This is an ideal spot to observe historic arts, rock carvings, and various artifacts and to spend a few minutes in a reflective pose.
And no village tour can be complete without a tuk tuk (three-wheeler) ride, which will pass through paddy fields, rubber plantations, and village houses.

Because tuk tuks are a common mode of transportation in these areas, this is the best option to experience the unhurried pace and rhythm of life in rural Sri Lanka. But if you would rather go for a stroll in the village to experience the many splendors of nature, you will have plenty of company from exotic birds and other species, including purple swap hens, red wattled lapwings, eagles, black headed orioles, lesser whistling ducks, and purple faced leaf monkeys.
