You’ve Got Some Galle

Stapleton Road posted a photo:

Class M4 747 departs Galle in the south of Sri Lanka with the 1434 Colombo Fort to Beliaththa. The service arrives at the terminus where it reverses to pick up the branch to Matara and Beliaththa but first it will run onto the shed to be spun on the turntable. Where ever posible single cab locos run cab first very much like our class 20s. These great looking 1750hp locos were introduced in 1975 from Canada.
Also visible in this shot is a Brush built Class M7 number 802 introduced from the UK in 1981. In the shed there is one of the veteran Class M2s built in 1954 and still running strong today. These 1400hp locos were also introduced from Canada.
In the distance is one of the Y Class diesel shunters number 682 This Hunslet shunter was built in Leeds in 1969.
