According to Swarna Wickramarathna (Buddha in Sri Lanka , 2012, pp. 168) , the Pirith Mandapaya is “an octagonal enclosure [whose] roof is a “white canopy [decorated with] traditional leaves”. Here in this Mandapaya , we wont see it, the white canopy. One has to go inside to see it .The outer walls of the Madapaya/pavilion can be decorated by flowers, paper cutters and other things. Here the flowers have been mostly used.
