Testing Times in Trinco.

Class M8 number 843 stands alongside Y class shunter number 666 on the small depot at the remote outpost of Trincomalee.
843 was recieving fuel after working the night mail from Colombo. The shunter was built by Hunslet in Leeds in 1973 and is powered by a Rolls Royce 550 hp power unit.
During my stay in Trincomalee i had to deal with the North East Monsoons which were running a month late in this year. Twice a day it would rain buckets making photography extremely difficult especially when the sun came out which made the humidity go off the scale.
In this shot the inspection pit has a foot of water in it following a down pour, every cloud etc so i cashed in on this reflection opportunity which will make my 1Z10 chums smile.
