In addition to the escalating impacts of climate change on agriculture, Sri Lanka faces an ongoing economic crisis which is hitting farmers hard.

To build communities’ resilience, the GCF-funded UNDPs-supported project ‘Strengthening the Resilience of Smallholder Farmers in the Dry Zone to Climate Variability and Extreme Events’, known locally as the Climate Resilient Integrated Water Management Project (CRIWMP), is supporting farmers like Champika Siriwardena to take up climate-smart agriculture practices.
