Vikaari to Be Released on the 10th of December 2020

Vikaari will be released this Thursday, the 10th, at 8.30 pm on Dust, the world-renowned Sci-Fi channel, and will be the first Sri Lankan film to be released on it!

Vikaari is a Sci-Fi short film written and directed by Sandun Seneviratne and Charlie Bray. Its story begins with the birth of children with a similar set of deformities around the globe. They are given the name Vikaari, a word originating from Sanskrit, which means change, or a mutable entity. As some believe, these children possess supernatural abilities. The film employs Sri Lanka as a microcosm of what’s happening in the world and brings to light the twists and turns that occur in society when they are presented with the unknown. The film first made waves internationally when it screened at Lund International Fantastic Film Festival, a top genre film festival in Europe. It then became the first Sri Lankan film to win an award at Screamfest, the largest and longest-running horror film festival in the US.

In just a couple of days, Sci-Fi fans will be able to watch this film on Dust, one of the most widely acclaimed Sci-Fi channels in the world, with over 2 million subscribers.
