Fish Cutlets | Cooking with Aunty D

Cutlets can be a super flexible pastime snack or a celebration treat! From random cravings to fancy appetisers, Lankan-style fish cutlets are a go-to for any savoury satisfaction! With cricket match fever up in the air, we’ve made it just in time to bring you the simplest recipe to treat yourselves and your friends to the best game-day snack!

Ingredients:

Fish cutlet ingredients

Green Chilli 6 nos

Garlic Cloves 8 nos

Curry Leaves

Big Onion 1 large

Potato 300g

Boiled Tuna 250g

Boiled Thalapath 250g

Pepper 1 ½ tsp

Chili Flakes 1 tbsp

Salt 1 ½ tsp

Lime Juice 1 ½ tsp

Oil 1 ½ tbsp

Egg Wash

Bread Crumbs

 

Method:

To a food processor, add your green chilli, garlic, curry leaves and onion and blend till combined.

Add fork-tender potatoes to a separate bowl with the boiled tuna, thalapath, pepper, chili flakes, salt and lime juice and mix.

Heat up some oil in a pan and gently sauté the processed mixture.

Add the potato mixture into the pan and mix until everything is combined thoroughly.

Take it off the heat, let it cool and shape the filling into bite-size cutlet balls.

Finally, coat them in egg wash followed by breadcrumbs and fry in oil until golden.
