Islandwide Power Restored After Monkeys Cause Major Outage

The Ministry of Power and Energy announced that power has been fully restored across the island by 5:30 p.m. following a significant outage earlier in the day.

According to the ministry, the disruption was caused by a group of monkeys that had entered the Panadura Power Station. The animals became involved in a scuffle, inadvertently tampering with the power grids, which led to a widespread islandwide power outage.

The power cut affected the entire island for several hours, leaving many areas without electricity. The Ministry has since apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured the public that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
